[Once he gets past the urge to just spew apologies, once he feels a little less like tearing his hair out, he gets on the network.]
You know, I don't remember if I ever said anything about it. But there's an animal clinic on board. [He holds up a set of keys, jingles them.] That's what those keys were, a while ago. I've got some experience working in one so, um. If anything happens, I've got stuff for splints and vaccines and worms and stuff. Since it'd be really easy for one to infect a whole bunch, you know?
[He pauses, because he remembers how people said apologies were unnecessary, that flood-selves weren't real, but like before, it just feels necessary, just to get it off his chest.]
And I'm sorry I was so...I'm just sorry.
[Private to Daneca]
You especially.
[Private to Jack]
So that's got to be, like, the worst thing to get paired off of, right? [WORST BEHIND THEM THOUGH right? right?]
[Private to Iris and Bruce, separately]
And thanks. For not letting me do something...really bad.
[Spam for Alana]
[He thinks Alana probably needs more than a straightforward apology, though he's not sure why. Something tells him she doesn't really have friends here, and while it's kind of weird trying to be a friend to someone who could be, like, a school therapist or counselor or something, he also thinks it'd be nice to know that someone's thinking of you.
Or something. He's seriously not over thinking it.
So eventually, Scott makes his way to her door, knocking. He knows there's a dog in there.]

I don't think he's going to give you a choice.

Easy, [he mumbles, in that tone people always take when they're talking to animals. He waits until Winston straightens his head, then balances the treat on the top side of his nose. Scott straightens slowly, holding up a finger, murmuring,] Wait, waiiit...
[Then he smiles, drops his hand.] Eat up.
spam;
I see why you're in charge of the animal clinic. Can I get you anything?
[She motions in the direction of the kitchen.]
spam;
Um...soda? Pepsi, if you have it. I'm fine if not, I mean, I just came to drop these off.
[...]
And see how you're doing.

[Alana arches a brow as she opens the fridge and takes out a soda for Scott. Setting it on the counter, it clicks.]
Oh. You're referring to the-- Scott, it's fine. [She waves a hand as she gets a glass and starts pouring the soda for him.] I've had worse days. You weren't yourself.
spam;
Everyone's been cool about it. I keep waiting for someone not to be.
spam;
Well, as far as I know, you didn't actually hurt anyone. And this tends to be a fairly forgiving bunch all things considered.
[She puts the rest of the soda away in the fridge.]
So, I'd say you don't have too much to worry about as long as you can forgive yourself.

[Alana smiles.]
That's right. So be easy on yourself.

Was the flood okay for you? Besides, you know, jerk-me.
spam;
It was a nice break, honestly.

I didn't remember anything about this place. There was a lot less to think about.

Well, that's one way of looking at it.

[He guzzles most of what's left of the soda.]
Hey, did you ever get volunteers? Or - I dunno, do you still call them clients if they're not paying?
spam;
There is such a thing as pro bono, Scott. [She nods though.] I've had a few express interest and show up to their appointments.
