[Scott hasn't been out and about lately, but the few who have seen him around will note that he looks better. A little less freaked, less drawn, less doubting why he's here. He looks solid again - and concerned.

And maybe a touch afraid because this is a big thing for him, okay.]

I'm a werewolf.

[Oh god he just said it this is huge-ish] I only have been for a few - I guess a couple months, now. I don't really know crap about it, but I know - I'm not that douche from the flood, or the other Barge, or whatever that was. I'm not an alpha. I couldn't turn anyone even if I wanted to and trust me - I really, really don't.

I know everyone's tired of apologies, but I just need to say it, for me. I'm not that guy. I'm nothing like that guy, cause that guy was like the psycho who bit me, and I don't ever want to be like him.

So. Okay. Thanks, I guess. And if you're going to like, grab pitchforks and torches or something, can you just let me know, first? And if you need me, I'm gonna be in the CES with some lacrosse stuff. [Which is his way of saying he's available for lighthearted sports fun if anyone needs to loosen up.]

I'm sorry. [Apologies are not hard for him: there is always something or other to apologize for, and Elena definitely, definitely deserves one. He attacked her, for no reason, he was a budding psycho, and maybe it wasn't him, but he doesn't think he could live with not apologizing.]

I know it's all messed up and that wasn't even really me, but I'm sorry. Can I, I dunno...can I do anything? Do you need anything?

[The last is barked, a demand for attention as Scott gets going. Dean lets the snap stay in his voice, because he needs this kid to listen; he remembers the Scott McCall from that other Barge. He'd just been hoping, like a reversed Elena, it was a matter of a decision this one hadn't made yet.

Although he does note that part about making it go away.]

It doesn't have anything to do with you, what you can do or won't do, at least not completely. Alright?

Controlling it isn't always in your hands. Like whatever the hell that was, sometimes we're just completely different people, and it doesn't mean shit.

But if you're something superhuman, if you can hurt a lot of people around you that won't have any defense against that? Then yeah. There needs to be a contingency plan in place. You need to protect the other passengers by having someone, or better yet multiple someones, ready to go to stop you before you can hurt too many other people.

[He's right, and that's terrifying. He drops his face into one hand, knotting his hands in his hair.]

[Dean shrugs. It's not a good answer. It's the one he has.]

That's why I said multiple someones. If you just tell one how to put you down, it's a 50/50 shot every time this happens that you could be screwed.

There's no 100% guarantee, but the odds get better that one person, somewhere on this godforsaken ship will still have their shit together.

This sucks.

[He's sixteen. He doesn't want to die. He doesn't want to be this.]

[Dean doesn't say he's sorry. He's not. But he does wish it were different.

Not much. Scott came here of his own volition, he could leave instead of deciding on a backup list of executioners. But he seems like a good kid, and he's young, but a little hapless.]

I know you don't know me from Adam, but I'm officially volunteering for the position. I have some experience with this kind of thing.

[Wait. He drops his hand, looks up at Dean.]

[He pushes his communicator away entirely so he can just hold his head in his hands and breathe. His experience with hunters so far has been pretty awful. They did try to kill him, right before he came aboard.]

[It's not exactly a surprising reaction, considering what Scott just confessed to; Dean doesn't expect he's very popular amongst the supernatural crowd. Jesse had proven that much, too.

But then again...

So Dean doesn't protest, but he does let Scott run himself out a little before he tries to talk over him.]

I kill anything that preys on people. I kill things that kill people. And I do what I have to do in order to keep as many people as I can safe. But sure, you can go that way if you want.

[He's been through this, he's been afraid, he's lost control. And he's found it again, he's learned, he's struggled. He keeps trying. He's so afraid of hurting someone, and he can't accept that the only way to avoid that is to die. To ask someone else to kill him.

Dying doesn't just take something from him. It takes something from someone else, too.]

[He grabs the communicator again, stares down at the screen.] And I'm still a person.

[Dean, who hasn't bothered getting riled since the first time he tried to cut across Scott winding himself up, breathes out.]

Yeah. I've met a few excitable ones along the way. And maybe I used to be one of 'em, but.

I've gotten a bit pickier since coming here, I guess.

[He kind of wishes he could have this conversation with Mr. Argent, but he also knows he'd be shot full of wolfsbane before he got a word out. Probably in the face.]
