( 003 ) Ω ( Video )

[I'm so sorry to do this to you Barge, but there is a clatter and then suddenly video. Yeah, it's an accident. But at least it comes with a show!

There is music blaring, and yeah, it's Call Me Maybe. Even better, Scott is totally belting it at the top of his lungs.]

-was blowing, where you think you're going baby?

[He's off screen, or he was, because suddenly he's leaping onto his bed with a dramatic point.]

Hey, I just met you, and this is crazy! But here's my number, so call me maybe!

[This is that all out kind of singing, where you kind of suck and you might be a little tone def, but you don't care because you're alone in your room.

(He's definitely a little tone def.)]

It's hard to look right at you baaaaaaaaaby!

[He's jump-dancing on the bed now. The monkey may be involved. It's pretty embarrassing, and a touch adorable, because it's really hard for Scott not to look slightly adorable at all times.]

So here's my number, McCall me maybe!

[Adorableness retracted, he's completely dorksih.]

[Private to the Admiral]

[Added later, after the impromptu serenade.] I don't...know what's going on right now. But, I didn't hear about the clinic, and I just, wanted to know, I guess. Assuming everything's okay, anyway.

Is everything okay?

It only barely qualifies as a song. And that is only because it is made up of a cacophony of mish-mashed sounds, that are vaguely discernible as notes.

It's meaningless.

You think so little of music as to imply songs should have no value? [Someone's getting a little heated here.] Music is not just some throw away pastime for you to drag through the mud as you please. Songs should carry purpose and the spirit of a culture. History. Emotions! Without that it's only so much noise.

[The final word is said with heavy disdain.]
forsaken_queen: ([human] that's not good)

You didn't just insult me, you insult the very point of music's creation. Songs are there to tell the stories of worlds beyond the dry emptiness of simple written word. They should resonate within the souls of those who sing and those who listen. Not merely settle for being "catchy". [Whatever that means.]

Why do you like it?

And what poignant, useful story does it entail? [Clearly, as indicated by her heavy sarcasm, she doesn't think it tells a very useful story at all.]

[You're getting a very unfriendly stare for a good long moment, Scott.]

Would you like a chance to rephrase that so it doesn't sound like mindless drivel?

That is little more than adolescent gossip, hardly worth preserving for the ages.

I like music. Real music.

Has that dreck rendered you deaf? I've already explained this, at length. Or is your simple mind incapable of retaining anything of actual value, for more than twelve seconds?
