History: a wiki
Personality: Scott is, first and foremost, a good person. And right after that, he's a huge doofus. He's gone from dumbass kid in way over his head, fumbling through trying to protect the people he cares about, to realizing his absolutely massive potential - not as a true alpha, blah blah fancy supernatural being, but as a kindhearted, compassionate human being willing to do anything for the people who deserve it. In a lot of ways, Scott is as normal as they come - you know, besides the whole werewolf thing. His parents are divorced, they're strapped for money, he plays sports, doesn't do so well in school - before the Bite, Scott was only worried about making first line on the lacrosse team, and maybe finding a girlfriend. In the beginning of his sophomore year, everything changed. It was his crucible, in a lot of ways: sometimes you never know what you're capable of until your back is right up against the wall. Scott could have lived his entire life as a normal guy, getting by and probably never reaching his full potential.

Not that this is something he'd ever thank Peter Hale for, because screw that guy, but still.

Scott isn't unintelligent, but he can be slow to grasp things: at this point, he's used to thinking about cause and consequence, because he has lived through both on many occasions. Being a supernatural creature in Beacon Hills is rough by any measure, but Scott has a tendency to place himself square in the middle of trouble, out of the idea that if you can do something, you have to. It's very Spider-Man: he feels the moral obligation to protect those who can't protect themselves, and he has seen loss because of it. Those experiences have allowed him to start thinking ahead, to plan, and make back up plans. This doesn't always work: no experience makes you perfect. When his pack was falling apart, he was deeply vulnerable to manipulation of his guilt over not being good enough to help his friends: it's his deepest flaw, which is why 'guilt' is at the top of his app. Guilt has kept him from healing nearly life-threatening wounds, or healing post death. It drags him down into a miasma of self-doubt that has nearly (or literally) gotten him and others killed.

He is someone who takes his energy and finds his drive in others: people in need of protection, people who love him, always help to put the sunshine back in his smile.

While he can definitely be a dope, Scott can also be really, really sweet. He's a huge romantic at heart: when he found out his girlfriend's birthdays in schools have been historically shitty, he talked her into ditching with him - and while that was definitely the dumbass kid irresponsible thing to do, he gave her a day of wandering around the woods, making out, and making her laugh. Scott doesn't make grand gestures, but he's good at making the little things great. He is also terribly devoted in that way teenagers in love can be: when Allison breaks up with him, Scott couldn't handle the loss of her in his life. She was his first love, and you know what they say about those: losing her in a relationship was something he could cope with. Losing her in life nearly ruined his ability to control his supernatural side. Scott loves, and loves deeply, platonically and romantically. People matter to him; people will always matter to him.

He is willing to go to great lengths for his friends and family. While he can still be a typically selfish teenager - he wanted things to work with Kira so badly that he didn't want to talk to her about how dangerous her fox side was getting - when push comes to shove, Scott is a protector. A DARK KNIGHT He hates Jackson for being the absolute worst of the cocky asshole stereotypes, but when he's in trouble (trouble he literally put himself into), Scott still shows up to save him. Despite Theo literally orchestrating events in the attempt to kill Scott and steal his power, Scott doesn't at any point outright advocating killing him. Jackson and Theo don't deserve Scott's kindness, but it's never about what others deserve for him, even though sometimes he struggles with what's morally right. These are issues he never had to face before the Bite, and facing them is terrifying. Does he sacrifice one person to save others? Does the good of the many really come into play? Could he possibly know best? Absolutely not. Scott is pretty aware, at least, that he has no clue what the hell he's doing. But he tries. Really, really hard. He has a solid moral north - it's just a matter of following the compass.

Scott's the last person to multitask well when there's mega stress in his life. His grades noticeably dip after the Bite: he's not great at the studying thing in general, but once he has to worry about full moons and people tearing peoples' faces off in a wolfed out zombie mode, school work takes a huge strike. Which makes it a wonder that he even made it to senior year at all, let alone making it to the second semester of it. That stress, it can be a killer.

Despite his inability to keep his grades up, Scott does work hard. Mostly. Sort of. Look if Allison called him up, all bets are totally off, because he would absolutely rather do literally anything with her than anything else in the world. She could read from the book and he would sit there with a completely dreamy look on his face saying "wow, the Millers, yeah." This doesn't change too much with age, or girlfriend: anyone he loves could summon his adoration like that. But he does work hard especially to save peoples' lives, and he has to work really hard just to stay afloat, because everything is completely freaking insane.

After sacrificing himself with Allison and Stiles to find their parents, he was left with a horribly vague darkness around his heart. There are occasional moments when this darkness bleeds through: for a brief moment, during a period where there's a hit list on all supernatural creatures in Beacon Hills, Scott nearly loses it, almost killing someone attempting to cash in on the deadpool. His wolfed-out appearance changes, becoming something more bestial and demonic. The darkness is always there, and Scott controls it by looking to his friends to help. He's died once more since then, though not as a sacrifice, but the darkness has hardened him some, after the second time.

Scott's life since the Bite has turned into just trying to keep his head above water. It's not easy, and he's forced to react in most situations, but he's learning to be more proactive than reactive. Scott is a leader at this point, through and through: he's been tried and tested, and yeah, he's failed some times. But he keeps getting back up.

Powers and Abilities: Scott is a werewolf, and that comes with all kinds of fun extras. Instead of turning into a full on wolf or something out of Harry Potter, he grows the dreaded muttonchops, gross claws, and some serious teeth when he changes. He can do this mostly at will; it doesn't require the full moon. Being a werewolf gives him wolf-o-vision, smell-o-vision, and extra strength; he doesn't have to be full on muttonchopped in order to use these abilities.

The greatest struggle is always control: Scott has learned a lot about his powers, but there's always some new bullshit hijink that can affect him. Scott wasn't born into this life, and even now there's plenty out there that he doesn't know about. He didn't know that true alphas were a thing, but he stumbled his way into the position by force of heart: Scott never killed anyone to gain his abilities. He doesn't care about power, he cares about people, and that fact of his nature is reflected in his supernatural side. Werewolves in this world are predators, yes, but not necessarily killers; he's not a monster. The urge is there on full moons and it can be hard, but Scott is, in general, in control of his changes - and if he isn't, he knows enough to get somewhere to change safely.

He can take pain away from those who suffer through touch, by taking it into himself; he can do this to almost any extent, and has even taken a person's pain as they died, thus experiencing it to some extent. In theory, it's not an easy thing for him to do, but in practice, Scott is fast to take on a burden he thinks others shouldn't have to bear.
